How to remove Reshade from your games
Recently, various add-ons for games are gaining popularity, including those that affect not only the gameplay but also the balance of the game.
Reshade is a relatively new program for adjusting the graphics in the game, working with sharpness, lighting, shadows and rendering textures allows you to achieve a rich dynamic picture in the game, in a game like PUBG it gives some advantage to players with this utility.
But in some online games, such utilities are officially banned. Recently, the developer of the game PUBG is actively struggling with cheats in the game including a new anti-cheat system that will block players with installed reshade programs.
Don’t be afraid to get a ban for using Reshade. The developers have officially confirmed that players will not be punished for using shaders. But with the installed utility, the game will not start. So here is a short description of how to remove it from your computer on the example of PUBG.
The ReShade program itself doesn’t make any changes to the game files; it adds the “.dll” configuration files and the folder with the downloaded effects.
If you want to reinstall or remove it completely follow the instructions:
• Go to the game directory with the installed utility “SteamLibrary \ steamapps \ common \ PUBG \ TslGame \ Binaries \ Win64”.
• Delete the folder with the effects of “reshade-shaders”.
• “1.ini” file.
• “dxgi.dll”, “dxgi.ini” and “dxgi.log” are also sent to the trash.
• Restart Steam and you can play.
Also, there is a chance that you will need to reinstall the game. So, it is better not to install such programs at all, just to be sure that you won’t have any problems with bans and blocks in the game you love.
This guide can be useful for any game with reshade, just change the game directory.
