You are allowed to own dozens of guns but no more than six dildos

Having more than six dildos in Texas is forbidden by law. No, you are not seeing things. You have read it correctly. Texas is a US state, considered one of the places where people have more rights and freedoms than anywhere else, as citizens can possess the number of guns they want. For this one needs to be 21 or more and does not need any preceding training, shooting proficiency test, license, or being checked, or fingerprinted. You don’t need anything! However, the state issues a law that prohibits owning six dildos or more. Quite a strange logic, isn’t it?

The law (Section 43.23 of the Texas Penal Code states: “A person commits an offense if, knowing its content and character, he wholesale promotes or possesses with intent to wholesale promote any obscene material or obscene device.”, “A person who possesses six or more obscene devices or identical or similar obscene articles is presumed to possess them with intent to promote the same.”

According to the Texas Penal Code, an “obscene device” is a dildo or an artificial vagina applied for the stimulation of genital organs. Therefore, owning six dildos or six artificial vaginas is considered illegal. Similar laws concerning sexual devices exist in Virginia, Alabama, and Mississippi.

The USA is infamous for mass shootings which are pretty common there, for instance, the tragic shooting that took place in the Uvalde school, Texas, with 21 victims, in May 2022. 

After the Las Vegas mass shooting with 60 victims in 2017, Colin Jost spoke about it in CNL’s “Weekend Update”. He told that the gunman had 47 firearms, mentioning the Texas law prohibiting owning more than six dildos. Colin Jost said the reason for it was that no one needed so many. If one had more than six dildos it would mean they were training for something terrible.
