Samsung drops three new Galaxy A series smartphones

Samsung’s three new Galaxy smartphones and their reasonable prices were introduced at the company’s awesome event where they were the highlight.

Samsung streamed their ‘Unpacked’ event for its new Galaxy A series of low-cost phones on March 17. This event is created with the same idea as it was with January’s ‘Unpacked’ event where we got the first peek at Galaxy S21 and Galaxy S21 Ultra. Because Coronavirus made it impossible to gather large crowds, Samsung streamed the event, which consisted of a pre-recorded video.

The company’s goal was to bring ‘‘awesome to everyone’’ and presented the three new Galaxy A series phones: the Galaxy A52, Galaxy A52 5G, and Galaxy A72. Within Europe, the phones were offered for anywhere from €349 to €449 or $415 to $535 (AU$540-AU$690). Within the United Kingdom Galaxy A52 5G was priced at £399 while the Galaxy A72 was £419. (The standard A52 isn’t sold on UK territory.)

2020 was the first time when Samsung revealed the complete Galaxy A series in the US, which included four 4G LTE phones ‒ the price for the GalaxyA10 stretched between $100 and $400, and the two 5G models cost $500 for Galaxy A51 5G and $600 for Galaxy A71 5G. The new smartphones undeniably appear to be cheaper than what the company had to offer in 2020, regardless of whether we convert the prices. Additionally, if you consider the fact that within the EU people pay the prices with included tax, the prices in the US become even cheaper.

What is the Galaxy A52 all about?

The Galaxy A52 is the cheapest choice of the bunch and it has a 6.5-inch display. It combines a 4,500-mAh battery, 25-watt fast charge, and an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance. It operates with 4G LTE, however, it doesn’t offer the option of 5G. There is also a 32-megapixel selfie camera and four rear-facing cameras (64-megapixel wide-angle, 12-megapixel ultrawide, 5-megapixel macro, and a 5-megapixel depth camera with 10x digital zoom). The phone’s display is FHD Plus resolution and has a 90Hz refresh rate with a small hole where the selfie camera is. Similar to the others (Galaxy A52 5G and Galaxy A72) the colors you can pick from for this phone are violet, blue, black, and white.

What are the Galaxy A52 5G’s specifications?

Samsung provided a second version of the Galaxy A42 as the first one didn’t offer 5G. Well, this one did and that’s why it was called A52 5G. Its characteristics are identical to the standard Galaxy A52, however, it costs more, includes 5G, and has a better screen refresh rate (120Hz compared to 90Hz with the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A72). It will operate on any carrier that provides sub-6GHz 5G, which is slower than millimeter-wave 5G, yet more dependable.

What about the Galaxy A72?

The Galaxy A72 is the largest of the three newly introduced phones with its 6.7-inch display. Moreover, it offers a couple of improvements specification-wise when compared to the Galaxy A52 and Galaxy A52 5G. This phone also has a bigger battery of 5,000-mAh and an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The refresh rate on the A72 is 90Hz like with the Galaxy A52. This is the most expensive phone from the selection of three and it only maintains 4G LTE.

Which option seems the best considering the price and which one of the three would you choose? Do you think the prices need to be lowered even more? Would you consider buying a Samsung phone with so many other brands popping smartphones out like no tomorrow?
