If you want to take your Fortnite game with the crew to the next level, then you should check the Fortnite custom match feature! Follow this step-by-step guide on how to make a custom Match in Fortnite and the best out of the gameplay with your team.
To begin with, you’ll need to have some buddies who play Fortnite. Jokes aside, first of all, you’ll need to get your Epic Games Support-A-Creator affiliate keys. For this fill in the affiliate form and have over 1000 followers on your social media. Or if you don’t have, you can always find a friend who has. When you get the confirmation email, your profile will be officially entitled by the Fortnite Competitive Team to run private matches.
Keep in mind that only 100 players can join at a time and all of them must be from the same region. Hopefully, Epic Games will soon make this feature available globally. With that said let’s get to the fun part.
Now that you are officially a Creator and you’ve enabled the 2FA on host account(s) make a double check if you are on the right server region.
This is very important. Otherwise, your match won’t start. The same goes for the player you want to invite for this match. You should all be in the same region, meaning you’ll have the same Fortnite private server.
Tip: You can put on Fill on Duo and Squads, regardless of whether you have a team or not. In case someone comes in Solo and you have a Trio, the person can join up with you.
Important note: As soon as the players get the key, they must join the private match. Because when they try joining the match after it has started an error message will occur.
Note: Be careful how you type it. The password is sensitive to upper and lower cases.
Q: Can you kick a player from the private match?
A: Nope. You’ll have to be aware of who you give the password to and who you let in the game lobby. There is no black list.
Q: Can the settings be adjusted within the private match (e.g. storm settings, weapon drop rates)?
A: No. Private matches are only limited to the available playlists that exist in the live playlist select screen. For example, you may not host a private match using the Blitz Limited Time Mode if the Blitz Limited Time Mode is not live and available on the playlist select screen.
Q: How can one obtain his logs?A: Press Windows Key+R -> Type “appdata” -> Press Enter -> Navigate through the following path: ‘Local > FortniteGame > Saved > Logs’
Hopefully, this walkthrough guide gave you enough information. If still, issues continue to occur, please check all the notes given again. Often the reason is the server region and also the incorrect password. So, just make sure you follow every step carefully. In the worst-case scenario, you can always report back to Epic Games with errors. To do this you’ll have to provide them the logs, both of the host and the player.
Have great gameplay with your team and friends!
