Has Greta Thunberg Ruined the Automotive Industry?

Jeremy Clarkson is sure that she has! The host of Amazon’s The Grand Tour and ex-host of everyone’s loved Top Gear is not shy in choosing phrases, so he decided to share his thoughts on a 16-year environmental activist.

“Greta has killed the car show!”

And this is the least weighty accusation towards the girl who split the world into two parts. Someone hates her and thinks she is crazy, while others consider her a new prophet of the 21st century.

Well, let’s start at the very beginning. All of us respect Clarkson for his sarcasm and honest opinions on the best and the worst car ever, though he always gives the ‘Best’ titles to only British vehicles. It is worth noting openly sarcastic jokes about celebrities – who else can say something frankly offensive to the interlocutor, and they still laugh! The next victim for jokes was Greta – the main cause of the death of TV car shows.

WTF Actually Happened to Car Shows?

Jeremy Clarkson said that this little strange girl is a spoilt brat and even an idiot who has led millions of youngsters away from car shows. Of course, he meant a collective image of environmentalists who are perfectly embodied in the person of a Swedish girl sitting under the parliament building with a banner instead of going to school!

Recently, he told The Sun that everyone under 25 is not interested in cars anymore, as they are taught that these machines are evil even before they can say ‘Mom’ or ‘Dad’.

His colleagues from The Grand Tour, Richard Hammond in particular, confessed that he agrees with Jeremy – youngsters have a small interest in cars. The main evidence for this is that kids don’t grow with posters of supercars in their bedrooms.

We bet that many of you, normal people, will join the Clarkson’s opinion – it’s a tragedy, guys! Even manufacturers make their vehicles more innovative, stylish and sometimes even cheaper, the next generation is not going to love these technological monsters so much. It used to be an entire car culture some years ago, so it’s insanely sad to see how this all becomes part of the past, which eludes us with lightning speed…

What’s About Environment?

Not Clarkson alone but many of us are sure that it’s not enough to cry in front of cameras for saving the world from extinction.

“She’s an idiot. Going around saying we’re all going to die, that’s not going to solve anything, my dear.” – was Jeremy’s verdict to Greta and he’s somehow right. Adults actually take action to save this planet – let’s look at Tesla and other electric cars that don’t pollute our planet so much.

Another example is European countries – Danmark, the UK, Netherlands, Norway, and France are going to ban diesel engines soon. Who knows, maybe someday every country on Earth will switch to electric power. These are real actions – they speak for themselves. Such actions don’t need to be loudly performed for the UN councils. But who sees that? Everyone is going crazy about Greta and her hate speeches.

In his interviews, Jeremy acknowledges the problem of global warming – he will even ride a bicycle instead of super-powered motor monsters. Still, he calls for not scattering empty words.

“Only an idiot doesn’t change their mind when faced with irrefutable evidence. The question is, what to do about it? That’s a more interesting debate than what is happening.” – he says.

By the way, Jeremy’s daughter Emily criticized her father for not being polite when addressing his comments to Greta. Nice try, but there’s a sense in his words for The Sun:

“How dare you sail to America on a carbon fiber yacht that you didn’t build which cost £15 million, that you didn’t earn, and which has a back-up diesel engine that you didn’t mention.” Do you agree?

Pretty Good Info Line for Jeremy

While Greta wants to get some free PR from the media, Jeremy Clarkson is not a saint, so he uses environmental trends to the fullest.

The next special 90-minutes episode of The Grand Tour is coming soon – Amazon Prime subscribers will see it on December 13. This part of the show is called “Seamen” and it will be dedicated to the trio’s 500-mile adventurous trip across the world.

In the new episode, you will see a journey to the Mekong Delta, which flows between Vietnam and Cambodia. You’ll see beautiful landscapes of our planet that can still be saved. And most importantly – the presenters just call on the audience to do so.
