Trump. Impeachment

Every now and then we often hear these two words in one sentence. But this time it seems to be some serious shit.

Top Democrat Nancy Pelosi announced impeachment inquiry and said the president “must be held accountable”.

“The actions of the Trump presidency have revealed the dishonorable fact of the president’s betrayal of his oath of office, betrayal of our national security and betrayal of the integrity of our elections. Therefore, today, I am announcing the House of Representatives is moving forward with an official impeachment inquiry.” – as stated by Pelosi.

The official reason is ‘betrayal of national security’ by the President. And in the case, if the inquiry is pushed forward the House of Representatives will vote on any charges and the vote would likely be carried, making Mr. Trump the third president in US history to be impeached.

President Trump already reacted to that over his Twitter (where else, right?) saying “it’s a witch hunt”.

What caused the whole thing?

Trump and Zelensky spoke on the phone on July 25. This conversation was the subject of an internal investigation by an inspector of US intelligence after a complaint by an employee whose name is not called.

The White House has so far refused to release the whistleblower complaint to Congress. Presumably, it contains information that Trump threatened to withhold military aid to Ukraine if President Zelensky does not investigate unconfirmed corruption allegations against his political rival Joe Biden and his son Hunter.

By Tuesday, it became known that about a week before the conversation with Zelensky, Trump personally ordered the suspension of military assistance to Ukraine, allocated under the two programs in the amount of $ 250 million from the Pentagon and $ 140 million from the Department of State.

Trump admitted that he had suspended aid to Kyiv, but motivated his decision by the fact that other countries, especially European ones such as Germany and France, help Ukraine, in his opinion, not enough. In mid-September, frozen money was still paid to Ukraine under pressure from its allies from both parties in Congress.

So what now?

Will Trump’s Administration reveal a whistleblower complaint? Will it be edited? The thrilling series of events will continue on Thursday when the acting director of national intelligence, Joseph Maguire, who held back the whistleblower’s complaint from Congress, testifies before the House Intelligence Committee.

Taking the whole story into account, it’s reasonable to see such a number of people supporting the impeachment of Donald Trump.

And how about you? Do you support the impeachment of President Trump?

So, ladies and gentlemen, get your popcorn ready!
