Apple Events and New Product Releases in 2021
Usually, Apple organizes 3-4 events a year. Let’s see what is expected to be held in 2021.
April 2021
On April 2021 event Apple presented AirTags, new iMac models, an updated Apple TV 4K, and renewed versions of the 11 and 12.9-inch iPad Pro.
June 2021
Annually Apple organizes the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). And this year iOS 15, iPadOS 15, watchOS 8, tvOS 8, and macOS 12 are going to be introduced at this event.
September 2021
iPhone 13
The new model is expected to have a 120Hz LTPO display, prolonged battery life, an improved 5G modem, and upgraded cameras. It will go in four models.
Apple Watch Series 7
In the new Apple Watch, we are going to enjoy a new health sensor, improved display, longer battery life, etc. Unfortunately, there is no definite information on Apple Watch Series 7 so far.
Late Fall Event
Apple usually has one more event in autumn where products are introduced that were not presented in the September event. It is held in October or November.
It is supposed that a certain number of products are due to be released in 2021 but the dates haven’t been announced yet.
iPhone 12 MagSafe Battery Pack. It will attach to the back of iPhone 12 models with the help of magnets and it will be removed easily.
iPad Mini. A new version is released this year, Like the previous models, it will have a Lightning port and may feature a larger display (8,5-9 inches).
Low-cost iPad. There are rumors that the ninth generation low-cost iPad is going to feature a 10.2-inch screen and be only 6.3 mm thick. It is expected it will have a higher-performance processor in comparison with its predecessors. The new iPad is going to have 4 Gb memory.
AirPods 3 will boast of upgraded compact design, based on the AirPods Pro, and new characteristics, including a new wireless chip. Moreover, they will be relatively reasonably priced.
MacBook Pro. Fresh versions are expected in 2021, featuring 14 and 16-inch displays. They will be fitted with a bigger number of ports and physical function keys (not a touch bar as before). Upgraded silicon chips with a 10-core CPU will be employed in the new models.
MacBook Air. The fresh model is going to be even thinner and lighter than the previous versions. MagSafe charging technology will be employed. The new MacBook Air will be fitted with USB 4 ports for external appliances. Better graphics is also expected due to the new silicon chip.
AR Smart Glasses. Previously, the release date of Apple Augmented Reality Glasses was supposed to be 2020, but now it is more likely to see them in 2022. There are no specifications yet, but some features are expected, like a built-in processor and a reality operating system. Rumors suggest that battery life is planned to be at least three hours. It is also supposed that AR Smart Glasses will be connected directly to iPhones.
Mac mini. A new model of the Mac mini is being elaborated. It is going to boast of a bigger number of ports, a more efficient silicon chip supporting 64GB RAM, and four Thunderbolt ports.
Mac Pro. Two fresh models are being developed by Apple. They will be fitted with smaller chassis. In addition, the new Mac Pros will have a top-tier silicon chip with 20 – 40 computing cores.
Larger iMac. An iMac with a 30 or 32-inch display is under development. Rumors suggest it will come out in new colors and have a black border around the screen. Larger iMacs are going to have more powerful chips, offering a 16-core CPU. They are expected to have enhanced audio characteristics and a 1080p FaceTime HD camera. As for the new features, Face ID will appear in iMacs.
