Some time ago the YouTube blogger made a PC with a config similar to PS5 and tested it with some up-to-date games.
After that people started arguing will the new console support high-resolution games? The first tests showed that an upcoming upgrade will be 4 times more productive than the PS4. ComputerBase did a couple more tests and came up with some new forecasts about the video card.
This time they were testing the newest AMD RX 5700 (it should probably be on board of PS5), based on Navi architecture and compared it to the previous RX 590 video card.
It was discovered that RX 5700 is 40% more productive than RX 590. Therefore, if Navi’s core in PS5 shall give 10,5 TFLOP/s it will be equal to the performance of the Polaris architecture (theoretically, 14.7 TFLOP/s, because AMD began to use the solution from VEGA in PS4 Pro). At the same time, PS4 Pro delivers 4.2 TFLOP/s performance. Obviously, guys did not take into account possible limitations of the CPU, which often are the most common bottleneck when it comes to desktop consoles
It brings us to the idea that PS5 is expected to have 350% better performance than the PS4 Pro, and 800% better than the PS4 (Slim). And it shows us how powerful the next generation consoles should be. Although the numbers maybe 10-20% lower because we do not know the final specs of the upcoming console.
And, of course, such performance will deliver support for high-resolution games.
