Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao divorce after 15 years of marriage

Aamir Khan, 56 years old, and Kiran Rao, 45 years old, have announced their divorce after 15 years of being a married couple. They told their fans about it in a recent Hindi-language video posted on Youtube on the page of Paani Foundation, which is a non-profit organization founded by Aamir, Kiran behind the Satyamev Jayate show. The fact about the separation startled everyone. The reason for the break up was tension and controversy in the family. The application for the divorce will be filed soon.

The ex-couple admitted they had been living separately for some time, moreover, there had been an emotional distance between them for several years. Their breakup was pre-planned, and now they feel ready to formalize it. However, they have an intention to go on working together on their common projects.

Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao told they wanted to start a new chapter in their lives, not in the roles of partners, but rather as co-parents of their son Azad Rao Khan, and a family for each other.
