From the sex symbol to the psychopath

However, at dawn of her career in 1959, after she converted to Christianity, her mental health went down.
And because of her depression in 1972 Page was taken to the Psychiatric clinic with headaches and blood on her. It turned out she assaulted her husband and their children with a knife because they didn`t pray hard enough. Later Bettie told “ I heard voices. I don’t understand what I am doing.”

Doctors were letting her out from the hospital, again and again, until at the age of 54 she attacked her roommate. Bettie came into her room, stood over the poor woman with a knife and told her “ Don’t scream and don’t resist. God sent me to kill you”. After this, she never left the hospital until 1992.
