The Best Goal of 2020. Chelsea – Brighton

“Brighton” has so far scored the best goal of 2020. The reaction of the fans – a picture of “Scream” by Edvard Munch. Even Lampard was admired, although he had lost the victory.

The Premier League does not know how to relax on holidays. In the 21st round of the English Premier League, the Brighton team hosted the Chelsea team on their field, where the guests missed a victory after failing to beat the hosts. The final score of the match between the teams is a draw 1-1.

Frank Lampard’s team scored in the tenth minute, Cesar Azpilicueta took advantage of the commotion in the opponent’s penalty area after a corner, he managed to react quickly to the ball that bounced to him and shot Matthew Ryan’s goal.

Lampard’s team led 1-0 to the 84th minute. Leandro Trossar was supposed to level the score at the end of the inning, but was not accurate; everything was going to an easy victory for the “blue.” And then the Iranian forward of the hosts Alireza Jahanbakhsh made an excellent New Year’s gift to the fans: from 11 meters he hit through himself to the left corner with a rebound from the ground – the goalkeeper did not even understand what was happening and froze.

An important detail gives a dramatic effect to the goal: Jahanbakhsh took only 14 minutes – he entered the field on 70 minute. “This is an amazing feeling,” –  said the 26-year-old player after the match. – “When I went out, there was a feeling that I could win the game. I saw the ball, tried to punch as hard as possible, a hit through myself was the only option. I’m going to review the goal several times”.

Even Lampard liked: “We scored, took possession of the ball, but did not kill the intrigue. We allowed Brighton to remain in the game. As a result, a miracle goal happened, and we were lucky not to lose this match.”

The transfer of Jahanbakhsh from AZ Alkmaar for 17 million pounds is a record transfer of Brighton. He pecked at the fact that the player became the top scorer of the Dutch championship with 21 goals in 33 matches and fell into the lists of the most promising players in the world. But in England the Iranian wasn’t so lucky: this season he played only three times (2 goals), and in the past, he didn’t score in 19 games.

Although Brighton saved a draw, it hovered 15th in five points (24) from the relegation zone despite the fact that many opponents have matches in reserve.

So if Jahanbakhsh continues to score (not always so cool), it will help Brighton a lot.
