New League of Legends Nexus Festival in Saudi Arabia

Riot Games organizes a three-day event in Saudi Arabia from 5th to 7th December. During six different competitions, united by the League of Legends topic, a total of $ 2 million will be played. The event will become part of the Riyadh Season program — the largest event in the country’s entertainment industry.

The so-called “Nexus” will be the company’s first LOL esports competition in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA).

The largest part of the prize pool ($ 850 thousand) will be played in a 5v5 format tournament. Another $ 750 thousand will be shared between game influencers. The remaining $ 400 thousand will be distributed by the best in Teamfight Tactics championships, 1v1 in League of Legends and in the cosplay competition.
Riot Games also announced that it plans to expand its influence in the Maghreb and the Middle East:

— “The launch of the Nexus festival is just one part of our plan to increase our presence in the MENA region. We are also looking at implementing the Arabic language support for all our products starting next year along with a localized version of League of Legends for all our players.”

The company’s first offices in the region appeared in 2018, and in 2020 it plans to add Arabic localization to League of Legends.
