Shanghai welcomes League of Legends World Championship 2020
Shanghai Stadium is becoming an epicenter of the nerds’ convention: according to Riot Games, the 2020 League of Legends World Championship will be held in the Republic of China.
It will be the 10th battle for the champion’s title of Multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA).
However, not only the Asian region is ready for the online slam, but also some other cities have already participated. In 2019 Berlin became a platform for the group stage, Madrid received guests for quarterfinal and semifinal, and Paris had visitors for final. Next year six cities in China are going to be trembling by geeks from all over the world.
China became a host to the World Championship in 2017, that was held at the Beijing National Stadium. And now it’s time for fucking, but breathtaking numbers: 44,000 seats on the Stadium were filled!
It’s not the first time for Shanghai to undertake esport activities. Recently, Mercedes-Benz Arena has carried out Dota 2’s The International 9. And there were even some gossips, that NetEase will build an esports park for geeks (Shhh!).
Moreover, Riot Games are going to cut through the red tape: for the next Championship, they are planning to fill 56,000 seats in the Shanghai Stadium! Good luck, Guys!
