Munnabhai M.B.B.S is a comedy-drama movie that was directed in 2003 by Rajkumar Hirani and produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. One of the reasons for the film’s breakthrough is the appealing image of a gangster Murli Prasad Sharma, played by Sanjay Dutt. Murli Prasad Sharma (with a nick Munna Bhai) is living with his buddy Sarkeshwar a.k.a. Circuit (Warsi) and selling himself to be a doctor when his parents arrive. They want their son to be a doctor very much, but their dream is crushed when a friend of theirs, Jagdish Chandra Asthana, tells them the truth about who their son really is. Parents leave with disappointment, but Munna decides to enter a medical school against all odds. It turns out that the dean there is Asthana himself. The movie is full of funny and ridiculous situations. Part of the film’s success is due to unsurpassed Sanjay Dutt’s acting and his likable character Munna.
