Avicii releases an album straight from the grave
Who’s up for some music from beyond?
Famous Swedish DJ Avicii passed away in 2018, but will soon release his new record. How is that possible?
This news was reported in an interview with Neil Jacobson, President of Geffen Records label owned by Universal Music. The new album called “Tim” is scheduled for release in June 2019. The name of the album refers to the real name of the DJ Tim Bergling. The musician’s agent, who will actually release it, told the press that it will include tracks on which Avicii worked shortly before his death. Most of the songs that will make it to the album were 80% made by Avicii.
The presentation of the full album will be preceded by the release of a single called S.O.S. Judging by the release date, it is timed to the anniversary of the death of the artist. Avicii died in the age of 28. Alcohol brought him to the gates of Tartar in 2018.
On the other hand, Neil Jacobson who has worked with Avicii throughout his career since he signed him to Interscope Records in 2011, says that there is no decision on what to do with Avici’s post-mortem album and refuses to spill any details about the music and the artists who took part in the recording. He very much hopes that together with the family of the musician they will come to a common decision and will be able to honor his memory along with millions of fans around the world, releasing the album. Jacobson believes that Tim would like to share his music with the world. And we sure hope to hear it soon.
