Red Bull Junior Team Signs Ex-F1 eSports Racer Igor Fraga

Red Bull Junior Team has received former F1 eSports racer, Igor Fraga, as the recruit in the program.

Red Bull has revealed another representative of the Red Bull Junior Team for the season 2020. It is a 21-year-old eSports rising star Igor Fraga who won the Toyota Racing Series in 2019. For 2020, he will join Charouz Racing System in Formula 3.

In addition to Igor Fraga, the program signed promising racing stars Jack Crawford, Yuki Zunoda, Jack Duane, Yuri Vips, Dennis Hauger, Jack Duane, Liam Lawson, and Johnny Edgar.

This time, Igor Fraga will compete side by side with his former competitors Jehan Daruvala (Carlin F2), Liam Lawson (Toyota Racing Series), and Juri Vips (Super Formula). They are looking forward to following in the footsteps of Sebastian Vettel, who has become a champion four times. The young racers hope that their participation in the Red Bull Junior Team will make their way to Formula 1.

Igor Fraga considers his enrollment for the Red Bull driver development program as an important step in his career. “I went the other way ‒ participating in virtual races and winning the FIA Gran Turismo Nations Cup changed a lot in my career because I got a real chance to make my name. Being a racer for the Red Bull Junior Team enhances my further chances and brings motivation to move forward.”

Igor Fraga started his successful career in NACAM F4 in 2018. In 2019, he finished first in the Manufacturer Series and FIA Gran Turismo Nations Cup. His TRS victory increased his ranking and paved the way to Formula 1.
