Apex Legends for Mobile? Oh, Heck Yes ‒ Apex Legends Mobile Beta is Currently in Preparations for Full-on Launch
How many Apex Legends buffs out there have been dreaming of having their favorite game on their smartphone? This is a rhetorical question, of course, because people have been craving for Apex creators to adapt the game to the mobile plain for quite some time now.
And look what Respawn Entertainment is preparing for us right now:
“Beginning later this month, we’re kicking off the first regional beta tests for Apex Legends Mobile. This is a huge moment for our team. Two years ago we changed the landscape of the battle royale genre, and now we’re aiming to do it again on mobile.”
This means that you won’t even have to wait until the end of the current month to try out your first Apex Legends Mobile experience. The only nuance is that the Beta will be regionally restricted at first. Thus, the first locations to get the much-desired mobile beta are the Philippines and India, which are a pretty curious choice, to say the least.
Developers are planning to cover a couple of thousand players in the Philippines and India first, distributing the beta access throughout the globe in terms of the following year.
Among other things, the creators promise to keep the mobile version authentic yet true to its “big brother” counterpart. We can also expect thoroughly touchscreen-optimized navigation and controls, promised to grant the best and most convenient mobile battle royale experience out there.
Revealing more info, developers say:
“As we continue with testing, we’ll expand the size of these tests, add new regions, and implement iOS support. When we’re ready to go broader, we’ll launch a page that allows you to pre-register for the game and sign up for news about the betas.”
All in all, Apex Legends fans all over the world can expect lots of goodies in the form of both the upcoming mobile version and a number of some minor and major updates introduced for the console and PC version of the game. The year promises to be truly hot for all Apex enjoyers out there.
You can already check out the original trailer showing off several significant updates and other stuff.
On top of all that, we have some more updates for you, concerning the following essential information related to what’s new in the game.
When to expect Apex Legends Mobile Beta in your region
We know for sure that developers should run the Beta through a series of subsequent tests that are to take place in the Philippines and India in Spring 2021. The first beta run will cover Android mobile devices exclusively. Here’s what the developers have to say:
“As we continue with testing, we’ll expand the size of these tests, add new regions, and implement iOS support. When we’re ready to go broader, we’ll launch a page that allows you to pre-register for the game and sign up for news about the betas.”
As for the cross-play support
The game as a whole will be exclusive to mobile devices so you won’t be able to get together and compete with console and/or PC players. The thing is, the game was designed according to the mobile software principles on the basic level. That’s all we got concerning any possible cross-play opportunities for now.
Free to play or not free to play?
Apex Legends Mobile of course stays free-to-play and free from bummer donations and other unfair paid stuff, staying true to its roots, so to speak. As for exclusive thingies, there will be mobile-only collectible make-up items, all-new and original unlockables, exclusive Battle Passes, and other stuff.
Who’s working on the game?
True fans of Apex, don’t fret! All your good-old, familiar faces (and minds) from the original Apex Legends team are working on the upcoming mobile experience. Respawn Entertainment now has a separate team dedicated to mobile development consisting of all the old-school creators.
That’s all we can say in terms of firsthand updates and announcements. Stay tuned to learn more detailed info on what is introduced to Apex next.
