In India bank gave out cash to a corpse

There are moments in life (and death) when you need the money more than anything. And when you are desperate enough, or in this story, dead enough, you can tear your money out of the bank’s claws.

In the Bihar state of India, some good Samaritans dragged their dead neighbor to the bank to cash out his account. According to Daily Mail with the link to police reports, they needed the money to pay for his cremation. They say that 55-year old Mahesh Yadav passed away with a siege of illness, and his dead body was found by some neighbors.

First things first, those kind people started searching for money or some valuables in every nook and cranny. You know, as they say, it’s a bad fortune to find your neighbor’s corpse without money. It means you are a lucky guy and you are going to pay for the funeral. Anyway, the only thing they found was his bank book with 1600 buck on the account.

Not the best situation, but people do whatever is possible and impossible to avoid expenses. So the neighbors grabbed the bank book and the dead body and headed to the accounting branch. Come into poor manager’s world: you have come to work, drank some coffee, and flirted with some hot colleague and then bang! – all you can see is the corpse surrounded by the crowd who is just making a racket. Are they demanding the late guy’s money and won’t leave without cash? What would you do? The bank guy was not a hero, so he gave them money and this case probably created a new scheme for bank robberies.
