MG Motor India and Jio become partners to provide IoT solutions in new SUV

A carmaker MG Motor India has informed about the partnership with Jio, India’s digital service provider. MG Motor India is going to offer seamless integration of IT systems powered by Jio’s IoT (Internet of Things) solution in its next mid-size SUV.

This collaboration, according to MG Motor India, will create new-age mobility solutions and produce futuristic mobility applications.

Jio, an Indian leading integrated telecom service provider, will facilitate automotive solutions produced to provide an assortment of consumer and enterprise services. Customers of MG Motor India’s new mid-size SUV will take a huge advantage from Jio’s widespread internet outreach, together with outstanding connectivity both in big cities and in the countryside.

According to Kiran Thomas, Jio’s CEO, the association with MG Motor India is seen as one more step in creating an eco-system of cutting-edge technology products and solutions for Indian customers, as well as a commitment to technological evolution in car manufacturing.

Rajeev Chaba, the President and Managing Director of MG Motor India regards the partnership with Jio as a step towards entrenching MG Motor India’s position of a tech leader in the car-making industry. He adds that collaboration with Jio will guarantee safety backed up by technology.

Auto-tech innovation has been the target of MG Motor India since the start of its activity. The company has provoked a greater demand for Internet-connected and electric automobiles in India.

It all began for the company back in 1924 when Morris Garages was founded. MG has become widely known for its sports cars, roadsters, and cabriolets. The stylish automobiles were admired by a lot of famous people including British Prime Ministers and the Royal Family. The MG Car Club appeared in Abingdon, the UK in 1930 and became one of the biggest clubs of a car brand in the world. Nowadays MG produces annually around 80,000 cars and hires about 2,500 employees.

MG Motor India started their activity in India by introducing MG Hector, India’s first Internet-connected automobile. After that, they launched a pure electric internet SUV – MG ZS and the Gloster having Autonomous Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and other cutting-edge features.
