Margrethe Vestager picks a new head of cabinet

The European Commissioner for Competition Margrethe Vestager has appointed Kim Jørgensen, the Danish Ambassador to the European Union, as the new head of cabinet.
On 10 September 2019, Margrethe Vestager became Vice President of the Digital Technology Commission. Despite her new position, Vestager continues to act as commissioner. The Danish Commissioner to the EU will also be responsible for the implementation of Europe’s digital policy.
Vestager announced on her new appointment to the post of head of the cabinet on her Twitter account:
“Looking so much forward to work with Kim Jørgensen, as Head of my Cabinet. Kim holds a master degree in History from the University of Copenhagen, and has worked for years with EU Union and foreign policy. That is so good. Even better: He has a sense of humor and is a team player!”
Kim Jørgensen is a former Foreign Policy Director at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Also, the new head of the Vestager cabinet has experience as a diplomat in many European countries, in particular in Turkey, Germany, France.
The Danish Ambassador to the European Union was pleased with his appointment and showed a desire and determination to assume his new functions.
